What is Sirsasana ? | Technique | Benefits

Sirsasana is considered by some to be the most important inversion and is often referred to as the "king" of asanas. This full inversion returns blood to the heart and the brain, refreshing the cardiovascular and lymphatic system and providing energizing effects for the whole body.

 



Techniques of Sirsasana

  • To make Sirsasana, sit in Vajrasana by putting a blanket or a thick towel on your Yoga mat or on the ground. 
  •  
  •  Now lean forward and let the elbows of both hands stay on the ground.
  •  
  • Connect the fingers of both hands strict together. In between them you have support your head. 
  •  
  • Keep the head slowly between the two palms. Keep breath simple.
  •  
  • Come on top of your toes, your body will be in triangle posture.
  •  
  • To slowly move towards Aayage, your back will be straightened - the ground and your back should have an angle of 90 degrees. 
  •  
  • When the back is completely straight, gradually put the body's full weight on the arms and start raising the body.
  •  
  •  Raise the first leg only, you are touching your knee chest and turning legs, practice 1-2 minute in this posture and then make the next step .
  •  
  • Try to lift both legs upright. Try to take the load on the head at least. Straighten the body.
  •  
  •  In the beginning, breathe five times in total and leave it out so that you can stay in the asana for up to 30 seconds. Gradually, as your strength in your body increases, you can increase the time, do not exceed 5 minutes.
